1. Windows of the Soul by Ken Gire. First time I read this book it helped me realize that I can experience God in different ways and that lesson is something that I speak to my students about when they feel God isn’t active in their lives.

2. QBQ by John Miller. This book helped me to start asking the right questions and to practice personal accountability. This has helped in my consoling sessions, for them to stop blaming teachers, parents and friends and to start manning up for their mistakes.

3. Total Money Make Over by Dave Ramsey. This has helped me to take control of my finances. This actually has improved my ministry because I don’t have to take money from the church to take a student out for lunch. I can use my own money. Also my wife is able to stay at home and raise our kids and never has to worry about getting a job (if she doesn’t want to)

Lastly are two books by Andy Stanly. Seven Checkpoints and Communication for a Change. These two books have allowed me to have a clear plan for every lesson that is taught at our Youth Group times. It gives me a blue print and helps every lesson to be clear and applicable for every student that walks into our room.
